svxlink server

I tried to install "newest tar-ball file /svxlink-090426.tar.gz for svxlink server,
I finally succeeded to install svxlink server on ubuntu9.04
but I had to be a super user when I unpack sounds-090426.tar.gz.
also I need typing "sudo svxlink" to start svxlink.
(I couldn't install former version/svxlink-080730 both on ubuntu8.10 and ubuntu9.04.
I had some errors during executed the command "make")
