Ideas & prototypes

The idea is to make snares, bass drums, hi-hats, cymbals, toms, etc. all in acrylic and let the robot play them. The photo above is a prototype made of Styrofoam to see the size.

Drum set configuration

A set of electronic drums consisting of a hi-hat, snare drum, bass drum, and cymbals. Made of acrylic.

The photo above is a snare drum. In the center is a fan that glows red with an LED. A contact microphone is attached to the center, and when you hit it, a trigger is sent to the sound source unit.

The above picture is a bass drum. A fan that glows green with an LED is installed in the center. A contact microphone is attached to the part protruding from the lower base, and when (the robot) steps on it with the toes, the trigger is sent to the sound source unit.

The above picture is a hi-hat and a cymbal. A contact microphone is attached to the board, and when you hit it, the trigger is sent to the sound source unit.
The hi-hat has two discs stacked on top of each other. The cymbal on the right of the photo has only one board.

A power supply for fans and a sound source unit for drums. ALESIS's D4 product has 12 triggers, each of which can be assigned a hi-hat, snare, bass drum, etc.
Later versions use KORG's CLIP HIT product instead of D4.

At the end of 2020, we recreated the acrylic exhibition stand, hi-hat, and cymbals.
