It was admitted into French possession French Indochina from 1887 and took occupation of the Japanese armed forces from 1940. A French military goes ashore with Socialist Republic of Viet Nam of communism to assume Ho Chi Minh a leader in 1945 having been established by North Vietnam side. A military collision happened in 1946 and developed into the first Indo-China War. For 1948 years, France supports puppet government in South Vietnam. A Vietnamese republic is birth by the American support that Vietnam is divided after lat. 17 degrees N with French defeat in the north and south in 1954, and was replaced to France in 1955 in South Vietnam. South Vietnam frente is organized in 1960 and starts anti-U.S.A. struggle. U.S.A. came to intervene with a Tonkin case of 1964 directly and I started bombing of North Vietnam in 1965 and entered into full-scale state of war. United States Armed Forces withdrawal decides that it ends in virtual defeat of the United States Armed Forces in 1973. North and south unification was realized with collapse of South Vietnam Republic in 1975 and renamed the name of a country to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in 1976.
Six kinds of stamps of Shield-backed Bug and cicada were issued from North Vietnam in 1965.
After that, south and North Vietnam were unified and Vietnam is borned. From this unified Vietnam, eight kinds of beetle stamps which drew longhorn beetle were issued in the same 1977. Eight kinds of stamps which drew Shield-backed Bug were issued further in 1982. Eight kinds of all are the beautiful new stamps unified by Shield-backed Bug. Eight kinds of insect stamps were issued also in 1986. After that, the beetle stamp was issued six kinds in 1994, and four kinds in 1996 respectively. Two kinds of stamps on which it drew a mantis were issued in 2009.
