A form is a spindle shape and its back is flat. The point that convenience is good long hair being located in a line with the point which stores air between a front shuttlecock and an abdomen and breathes, and brawny hind legs, writing water underwater, and obtaining impelling force etc. is the feature of Predacious Diving Beetle. An imago and a larva inhabit underwater , such as a pond, a swamp, and a brook. By meat diet nature, it preys on underwater Insecta, frogs, small fish, etc.
On the other hand, a Water Beetle friend can distinguish from Predacious Diving Beetle of other aquatic lives at the point that the tip of Section 3 of an antenna becomes round, the point that the mustache of a mouth is long, etc. Swimming preys on the small Insecta of other larva not much well, and an imago eats an underwater alga etc.
