曲名：Hooray for Captain Spalding
＜解説＞
マルクス兄弟の１９３２年の映画「けだもの組合」（原題 "Animal Crackers"）でグルーチョの登場シーンに歌われた曲。キャプテン・スポルディングとはグルーチョ演じるいんちきな探検家で、土人にかごをかつがせてパーティー会場に登場して、土人に「アフリカからここまで１ドル８５セントだと？ そりゃ高すぎる！ とっとと失せろ！ ライセンスナンバーはひかえておくからな」などと言った後でこの曲を歌う。口八丁ないんちき探検家というグルーチョのキャラクターを紹介し、前半のミュージカルシーンのハイライトにもなっている。この歌は大ヒットしてグルーチョの代表曲にもなり、彼のベスト版レコードには必ずおさめられている。また曲中曲とも言えるのが「こんにちは、もう行かなくては」 "Hello, I Must Be Going" で、こちらは後に曲タイトルがグルーチョのインタビュー集の本のタイトルにも使われた。
