Deep Purple Live at Fukuoka, Oct. 1996

Deep Purple made a great concert in Japan at the end of October.

I had a chance to see their concert in Fukuoka, Kyushu, Japan.
3 years has passed since they had had concert in Japan. 2 week before
last DP's Japan tour, Ritchie Blackmore quitted the band, and promoter
announced that they will accept the canceling of the ticket.
Actually a lot of fans canceled the ticket.

This was the second Japan tour since Ritchie quitted DP. And they
come to Fukuoka in after ten years.(Maybe their last Fukuoka concert
was 1985, their first reunion concert). The ticket had been sold out 1
month previous their concert. And a lot of standee filled the
standing room.

I also saw their concert in 1993 at Osaka. Also in 1993, Ian
Gillan was enjoying the stage without Ritchie. But their performance
was clumsy, because they only had 2 weeks for rehearsal with Satriani,
and (I felt )Satriani just imitated Ritchie's play.

But this time, the concert was amazing!! Member's combination was
really good, and Steve Morse's guitar was really wonderful,
fantastic, and wide scale!!. Sometimes he played like Ritchie, and
sometimes played with a cosmic scale (Like Tom Scholz, Boston),
sometimes sounded like cello, horn, I couldn't believe he made a sound
only guitar and his amplifier.

At "Hey Cisco", Roger Glover and Steve Morse stood before microphone
stand, and joined the chorus. That scene couldn't saw when Ritchie was
the member.
I am very happy because I could see their wonderful concert, and
could see that they really seem to be happy and enjoyable. Maybe 9th
DP will go on forever....
