As for utilizing high tech, Japan does not delay compared with the U.S.A., but very few people with the severely physical disabilities work as professionals. In America not a few the quadriplegics by spinal cord injuries participate into the process of the productive activities, at the background, as well as a various support system using high tech, the social consensus, such as in the Americans with Disabilites Act, not to accept discrimination against people with disabilities is a significant factor.

In this research, through fact-finding inquiries on the productive activities of the quadriplegics by spinal cord injuries in Japan and America, including researcher who is also a quadriplegic by spinal cord injury, it will be compared the social background, and it will be considered the possibility of using high tech for the productive activities of the quadriplegics by spinal cord injuries, from the point of view of the individual with severe disability.
