This is the only print
that I managed to make during 1987. And it only got
to be born because I had a committment to make it -
the printmaker's circle at our local community
centre was making a calendar, and I had been
assigned 'August'.

There were a few reasons for the lack of
productivity: working at home with two little
babies around wasn't exactly the most ideal of
working conditions; making a living teaching
English was taking up a lot of time and
energy; then in addition to these distractions I
had let myself get off on another tangent - this
time setting up a small business making and
marketing wooden toys of my own design.
