Back to the reproductions again, with a very famous image by the Rimpa school designer Ogata Korin (nobody could accuse me of not having good taste!)

This also was carved on another of those woodblocks from Saeki-san, and pulling it out of storage to have another look at it just now, I see that he really hadn't scrimped when letting me have them - the wood is absolutely superb. What a waste it was!

This is another case where my carving skill ran way way ahead of my printing skill (although truth to tell, you could say that about just about every single print I have ever made ...). I know what I wanted to make - a deep blue night sky with a silvery glowing moon hanging there, but I had no idea at all how to go about creating it. I'm a bit more experienced these days, so maybe I should have another go at printing some of these old blocks ...
