The whole project took almost a year, but my
Corvette comparison page is finally completed. AMT/ERTL seems facing a tough
competition since the quality of the Revell/Monogram kits got improved so much while A/E's
kit remain almost the same since the '80s. |
A number of parts have to be modified or improved
to make this kit look as good as R/M kit, but that's a challenge to all modelers. My
model was meant to be the box stock so no modifications were done.
|
Assembly of the kit was straightforward, and I
didn't experience any difficulty when building this kit.
Painting was a pain because I had to paint the body twice to make it look right. |
The body was clear coated with
Testors gloss clear as usual, and polished with Tamiya polishing compound and glass
cleaning cloth. Then Zymol wax was used to finish the paint job. |
 Overall,
I thoroughly enjoyed building both models. Both kits have their shortcomings, but I
prefer Revell/Monogram kit because of the reasons provided in my comparison pages. |
