I was quite impressed with this kit. Aside from some fitting
problem, that can be corrected easily, this kit represents the 275 very nicely.
I decided to make this kit as a "Factory Stock," so I added some extra parts to
enhance the details to meet that standard. |
I used Detail Master photo etched wiper blades and Replica &
Miniatures Co. of Maryland prancing horse and Ferrari script.
I prefer using Modeler's chrome foil since it is reasonably thin, easy to peel off, and
adheres well. (After these photos were taken, I replaced the bumpers with re-plated parts
done by Chrome-Tech USA.) |
I sprayed Gunze Sangyo's Surfacer to cover the molded-color red,
then I airbrushed tan as a base coat and yellow as the body color. Both are Pactora's
water base acrylics. Finally, I sprayed Testor's gloss coat, and sanded the surface with
Tamiya finishing papers. (1500, and 2000 grid) Using Tamiya and Modeler's polishing
compound, I achieved a fairly convincing smooth surface. |

Another 275GTB model shown here is a curbside resin kit of the
short nose version. It was commissioned by my acquaintance, and the color was
specified by him. I don't remember the manufacturer, but the kit was well done, and
the resin body was clean and had very little pin holes. |
Assembly was not so difficult, but I took a while to form the
right shape of the headlight rims. The paint was Gunze Sangyo's Mr. Color lacquer base
paint, and Gunze's clear coat was used. |
