Pyrola japonica/Pyrola alpina(family: Pyrolaceae)

Japanese name: Ichiyakusou/Kobano-Ichiyakusou

This plant is evergreen-perennial. We can see this plant at the shade of trees. This plant is distributed from Kyushu to Hokkaido in Japan. Japanes name Ichiyaku(= medicine) is from that this plant is used for medicinal plant.

Kobano-Ichiyakusou is distributed at high mountain in noth of central Japan. Kobano means small leaf.

06/June/'99 Mitake Gifu-pref blooming(photo1)
06/June/'98 Akigami-onsen Gifu-pref. (Pyrola alpina) a little bit late to see full bloom, Akigami is famous place to see wildflower.
