Swertica cuspidata(family: Gentianaceae)

Japanese name: Akebono-sou

This plant is biennial and grows moisture field or mountain throughout Japan. This flower blooms in September to October. There are yellow-green dots at white petal of this flower. Japanese name, Akebono comes from that this dots look like stars in the sky of early morning (Akebono means dawn).

My observation records:

03/Oct/'99 Tanosiri-Bog, Aichi-pref. not fully bloom yet
22/Aug/'98 Kaida-Highlands blooming
