· Answering my question, Mark wrote to me, "To answer your question, I was recording a Steve Wonder tribute album in 1992 which was never released. Joe was in town while I was doing the record and he played with me on Smile Please for the fun of it. In 2006 I resurrected the original guitar tracks and re-recorded the rhythm tracks. I think it turned out nice and I know Joe would have dug it. He used his Ibanez JP model on it recorded straight to the board. No matter what guitar or amp he used, you could always tell it was him.
