15.Michael B. P. Edahl (Denmark)(Aug. 13): Dear Joe.
Thanks for all the "frustration" You gave me, when I was trying to become a jazzguitarist and attended every concert You gave which I could get to (I´ll never forget the "Jazzhus Slukefter, autumn of 1987 with NHØP" when You played for about three hours all alone). I really never succeded in my jazzguitarist project, although I did learn how to play "Blues in G with a Bridge", "Dancing cheek to cheek","Somewhere over the rainbow", Summertime, Stomping at the Savoy, Lady B. Good, Sweet Georgia Brown and a few other tunes the Joe Pass-way. The "frustrations" You gave me helped me develop in many other ways though, and I will allways be eternally greatfull to You for that.
I really do hope You sit in the thronehall of The Allmighty playing away when I get there (if I ever do).
To morrow I´ll be attending mass, and will light another candle for You. - Oh, by the way! If and when I get there, I hope You have made a quartet with You, Charlie Cristian, Wess Montgomery and Jean Baptiste Rheinard (Django).

Yours very humble

Michael Edahl

22.Joe Terillo(Sep. 12):
Met Joe in Alex Axe store 48th street NYC around 1975-06. Was with my friend Louie (RIP) who recognized him . I did not know of him being a rocker and all. The owner asked us if we wanted to stay or leave...we stayed and got locked in for a private concert as he tried all the guitars. It was cool and I've been a fan every since. One of my best memories of my buddy Loie. Rest in Peace Joe!
23.najponk(Sep. 14):
Thanks for such a beautiful site about Joe Pass! He was the BOSS of the jazz guitar! Keep Swinging! NajPonk www.jazz4all.com
24.Elise L. Arnone(Sep. 14): Joe was one of my Dad's, Don Arnone's, idols. As a child, I listened to his music for hours on end. We would joke that Dad didn't hear us when he was listening to Pass or Montgomery playing, so we would scream "fire" to get his attention! Dad passed on June 16th, and I hope they get the chance to meet in heaven.
25.Simen Kjesbu Jîgensen(Sep. 16)
26.Jody Chalk(Sep. 30):
The only jazz great I ever heard live to ever take 3 shouted requests played as a medley.
27.TEF(Oct. 1): Joe Pass was one of the all-time greatest guitarists. I had the good fortune of being one of his students back in the late '70's when he taught guitar workshops at the University of the Pacific-Conservatory of Music.

32.Joshua "Redd" Smith(Oct. 12): Hello,
WOW, I have just come across this site, and it is fantastic. As a young jazz guitarist myself, Mr. Pass is one of my most favorite artist. I strive to learn all I can on the guitar(from the Bird, to Mozart and everything in between)to try to incorporate them into my own playing. When I am trying to learn some Joe licks or chord arrangements it is so wonderfully challenging that it seems as if 100 musical doors are opening
for me. Thanks for this great site, I'll be stoppin by again soon.
Sincerly, Joshua          10-13-05

42.Pat Smith(Nov. 17):
I saw Joe play many times, and got to chat with him a bunch. He was always friendly and funny and very free with guitar info and lore. Many nights I sat in front of him at the old Jazz Showcase in Chicago, back when there were still gigs that were 3-4 hours a night and 6 nights in a week. Joe must have known just about every jazz standard there ever was and he always had another way to play it. When he passed away I was completely shocked, I thought I would always have Joe to enjoy. I miss him very much. And I learned my lesson about thinking the things you love will always be around. Thanks for all the great pickin' Joe.
