.don jirousek(Jun. 3): i met joe once, in denver, he was playing a large club, i brought him all my "joe pass" sheet music books, it really wowed him..
.Dan Sargeant(Jun. 4): Thanks for creating this useful discography of Joe's recordings. 163 recordings is a great inspiration.
.Marianne Lohse(Jun. 9):
Joe Pass was performing at the North Sea Jazz Festival in Den Haag (English: The Hague)in the Netherlands in 1983 or 1984 when I attended one of his performances. His playing-solo guitar- mesmerized me even though I had not intended originally to go to this particular performance. But it was a very soothing and uplifting experience, hardly any superfluous noises as you so often have with performers who try to draw and achieve your attention with lots of humdrum. The name of this man stuck with me whenever I remembered the festival, Joe Pass was for me its representation.A quiet or should I say peaceful and concentrated musician, set on playing as tight as possible.
.RAY COYNE(Jun. 14): I SAT WITH JOE IN HIS DINING ROOM TAKING A GUITAR LESSON IN THE LATE 60S. I WILL NEVER FORGET HOW HE ASKED ME TO PLAY SOMETHING SO I PLAYED SENTIMENTAL OVER YOU AND HE LEANED BACK IN HIS CHAIR AND COMPED CHORDS-HE BLEW ME AWAY!
.Mike Garcia(Jun. 24): I found this site by accident, i,m so glad i did

.Polo Cisneros Jr. (Aug. 15):
What could I say? Words would not justify the influence Joe has had on me. For eight years I searched for a guitar player that I could say to my self,"He is the one!" that is the guy I want to play like. And ever since I have listened to his work, but sadly just a short two years after I discovered Joe he was gone. I never got to see him perform live. To the people who knew Joe Pass personally I would just like you to know you all are some of the most blessed people on the face of this earth. And to Joe may you rest in peace. I will allways keep your theory in music alive as long as I live,you sure did put a huge dent in the gutt of Jazz solo playing. Sincerely Polo Cisneros Jr. Pojac4@aol.com

.PAT PRATICO(Aug. 27): HI, I TOO AM ONE OF THE MANY WHO LOVE THE MUSIC OF JOE PASS. IN FACT IN MY MIND THE ALLTIME BEST CONCERT I EVER ATTENDED WAS AT DEVON, PA., U.S.A. BACK IN THE MID 1980'S. THERE I HAD THE EXTREME PLEASURE OF SEEING AND HEARING JOE PASS WITH OSCAR PETERSON IN QUARTET SETTING. IF THIS WASN'T GREAT ENOUGH ON THE SAME NIGHT LATER ON ELLA FITZGERALD PERFORMED ALSO WITH A PIANO TRIO BEHIND HER! WE WERE IN SWING HEAVEN! BUT TO PU THE TOPPING ON THE CAKE, AFTER ELLA FINISHED A SET WITH HER GROUP, JOE CAME OUT AND DID A COPULE OF TUNES WITH ELLA AS A DUET. I CAN'T BEGIN TO TELL YOU HOW THRILLED I WAS TO BE THERE AND HERE ALL OF THAT WONDERFUL MUSIC ALL IN ONE NIGHT! I KNOW I'LL NEVER TOP IT. I RELEASED MY OWN CD LAST YEAR ENTITLED "FOR MY JAZZ MENTORS" AND CONCLUDED THE CD WITH A TUNE DEDICATED TO MY HERO AND I CALLED IT, "BLUSIN' FOR JOE PASS".
.Robert P. Leonti(Sep. 19): I saw Joe play many times at the "Village Gate" and at the "Blue Note" in New York City. I was sorry to read of his death in the NY Times. This site pays him great tribute. Thank You
.Scott Cochran(Oct. 7): I am just beginning to explore Joe Pass's music. After only one cd purchase I can tell he was truely a Master of the Jazz guitar. Great site.

.Ted Ganley(Oct. 27): Joe you had one of the smoothest jazz voices I ever heard thanks
.Glenn Alexander(Oct. 27): I have been an off-and-on guitar player for 40 years - mostly "off." In 1975 I bought a used ES-175D. Its still in mint condition and spend most of its time in the original case. About that time I came across a recording of Joe Pass, Milt Jackson, and Ray Brown called "The Bid 3." From the first time I heard that, I was in awe with Joe's playing. I have a video of him playing at at The Guitar Institute in Hollywood. The cover photo of the video shows his own 175 - that's what really caught my eye. I watch it every few months for inspiration. I am most impressed with his "down home," "regular guy" presence in the video. I keep thinking that he's just a really tallented little old Italian guy that could be the guy down the street. I wish I had the chance to meet him. He must have been an inspiring and helpful encouragement to all those who knew him.
.Jack Pantazis(Oct. 28): Thanking you for ever for instilling in me the love of exploring and discovering the beauty of our wonderful art form that we know as jazz.Rest in peace Joe. Adoring fan Jack Pantazis

.Terry Costello(Nov. 21): Joe also has made 2 videos with Ella Fitzgerald in the 1970's Joe & Ella at Ronnie Scotts and Joe and Ella in Europe. They are available from Dave Gould. I think more people should show interest in the Joe and Ella recordings because they are fantastic and Joe singlehandedly turns accompanying a singer into an artform

.Mike Fowler (Dec. 21): I was just listening to the marvellous sets that Joe made with Oscar Peterson at Salle Pleyel in Paris in 1975. What technique but more importantly what feeling and interpretation. I think this is one of the finest records I have!
