Half Pipe!
1995-1996 winter was my 3rd snow season with snowboards. This 40 years old novice tried half pipe ! Encouraged by new snow wears with Kevler pads.
Not so scaring, but not so easy ! Pipe won't hurt you. Because impact is slipped by slope. The most painfull place is a flat, icy course for beginners. The secret to turn 180 degrees on edge is exiting at exactly the same direction as entry. But the approach must be more shallow, otherwise your turn will become very slow. ---- good luck!
Air turn is easy with shorter, wider boards. Longer boards are stable during high speed turn.
