雑誌記事を参考に1979年のEvolutionを、1981年Escapeはリアルタイムで聴いていた。 本作は、Escapeよりも前の作品の「ベストアルバムのつもり」で購入。 日本タイトル「ライブエナジー」のとおり、スタジアム級会場を満杯にして鍛えてきた はちきれんばかりのパワーが炸裂。 (Dec.24, 2001)

Debut〜1981までのベスト。Total 43分10秒なのは、LP盤のCD版だから。 Vocal物は飽きやすいので時折聴くことにしている。 NYCの気分を味わうのに重宝していたが、2001年9月以降、変わってしまったろうな。 (Jan. 5, 2002)

１曲目、替え歌でＣＭソングとして良く聴いた。子供心に切なく響いて忘れなかった その素晴らしい曲は、グラミー賞を受賞したものと後年知った。 ４曲目も、全米No.1の名曲。George Bensonも後年取り上げた。 (Dec.24, 2001)

アメリカンロックの神髄のようなJohnstonの時代から、ＡＯＲの先駈けともいえる McDonardの時代までのヒット曲が一気に聴けるベスト盤。まるでふたつのバンドを 聴いているようだが、どちらも水準以上の出来であり、さすが、No.1バンドである。 (Dec.26, 2001)

典型的アメリカンロックと思うが、可も無く不可も無くという感想。 持ち味は、カントリー色強い軽快で明るいサウンドとバラードにあるようです。 初めてRadioで遭遇した8.は、イントロをダークと感じて敬遠していました。 このあたりから変化がでてきたようで、ほどなく Hotel Californiaで大ブレイク。 当時、ボンボンの同級生がこのGuitar Soloを弾けると聞いてうらやんでました。 それまでの特徴からとは趣が異なるこの作品が、ロック史に残る名曲として認知され、 Eaglesの名を残したと考えます。 (Jan. 5, 2002)

Leeです。聴いたことない曲ばかりです。初期のベスト。これがFusion soundの基本形。 　 25年も前の自身のライナーを会社に頼まれ、困惑しつつ、6.7．は、十代に書いた曲だとか、 出典のFirst Course, Captain Fingersを作ったとき、レコード会社に異星人のように思われた 件が笑わせてくれる。 まずCaptain Fingers。初期にすでに、こんなプレーをしていたということに、驚きました。 しかし、Leeのアルバムを聴いていつも思うのは、Dave Grusinの影響。 というより、実態は、Dave Grusin Bandの一員という印象がいつもある。 こなすサウンドの幅、バラエティーは、ライバルのLarryより遥かに広い。 曲自体がバンドアンサンブル重視のため、やはり興味が薄れ易い。 (Dec.21, 2004)

Beatles時代の作品と1975年までのSolo時代のコンピレイション なんといってもSomethingに止めを刺しますね。カバーされること数知れないこの曲は、 Beatles作品中でも最も好きなもの。次点は、While my guitar gently weeps 曲もさることながら、Claptonの素晴らしいビブラートが琴線に触れる。 Nov.30, 2001は、このベストをずっと聴いていました。 (Dec.24, 2001)

説明不要のスーパースター 洋楽なるものを知ったはこの頃。ライブインジャパンが話題になっていたりした。 カレンの包み込むような暖かい豊かなボーカル、リチャードの洗練されたアレンジは、 永遠のもの。 Only Yesterday位まで追ったが、のち不運にもカレンが亡くなったのはとても残念だった。 (Dec.24, 2001)

Best盤じゃないけど、Best Worksだから。組曲風Progressive sound。 学生時代、薦めた太鼓担当に不満を云われたけれどいいじゃないか。 　 １曲目を少し辛抱すれば、２曲目から本編開始、４曲目でVocalもはいりめくるめくリズムに 　 ５曲目で、Fusion！（この頃は、Cross over？）。Neal Shoneとの掛け合いが、有名。 　 雑誌Young GuitarでのNealの回想に、スタジオでお互いが交代で出入りして作ったという。 　 音色やつながりがスムーズなのは、その賜物。 　 GregのOrganも良いし、リズム隊は、要求された様々なパタンを安定かつ驚異的に繰り出す。 (Jan.13, 2005)

Best盤ではないけれど、Best的選曲のLive盤ということで。 　 派手な曲は無い。地味といってもいい位。１曲目は、まだエンジン掛かってない印象だが、 　 ３曲目以降で、安心して聴ける。70年代初期のロックバンドのイメージは、ウルサイ、 　 タンジュン、ツマランであった。しかし、昨今のハイパーかつ過剰装飾音の洪水を聴くのも 　 疲れるので、こんなワビ、サビの世界もいいものだ、と思えるようになっている。 　 Paul KossoffのGuitarであるが、スカスカだらけ。でも、これがツボなんだよなぁ。 　 間の取り方が、自然で無理なく無茶しないし。注目のチョーキングビブラートは凄い。 　 Solo作時と違い、まだ薬物の影響が少なかったのだろう、そこかしこで炸裂している。 　 Paul RodgersのVocalも、特筆される。Rock Vocalistは、ハイトーンが決まり文句だが、 　 まったく当てはまらない。そんなことに関係なく上手く味があってよい。 　 1-8が、オリジナル盤。9以降は、CD盤として追加されていてお得。 　 BGMとしてナイス。 (Jan.13, 2005)
