The Pacific
nations and territories
We have provided three basic links to each country. G = government, T = national tourism promotion, N = news, CCI, or other best available, H = history. We avoided airlines, banks and  other self interest links. We could not find enough good links. If you can suggest better, please contact us at IMC. Information for this page was originally mainly found in PACIFIC magazine (Jan/Feb 2008 issue). We have further updated and changed following internet searches. In fact the internet has a huge amount of info though much of it is excessively commercial. Most linked websites are in English but a number have pages in Japanese and other languages. If you want to do more searching, a simple Google search such as "cook islands tourism" will usually find a website for your needs.

If you are wondering what the 2-letter codes under net are, they are the internet codes that belong to these countries. Tonga owns the "TO", Tuvalu owns "TV", etc. Tokyo doesn't own TO; the television industry doesn't own TV. For a list of internet domains see IANA. For info on the whole Pacific travel see SPTO.
