ASIAN UNION FOR MICROCIRCULATION

Wellcome

With rapid expansion of research in the field of microcirculation in Asian countries, there is an urgent need not only to promote and to facilitate the exchange of information in this multi-disciplinary area but also to encourage collaboration among the scientific investigators both within this region and with the world-wise scientific community.

The Asian Union for microcirculation (AUM) was formed during the Fifth World Congress for Microcirculation in Louisville, Kentucky, September 2,1991.

The AUM has held its conference bi-yearly.

The AUM collaborates with the other societies and organizations for microcirculation in the world.

Constitution

1. The name of the Union is the Asian Union for Microcirculation (AUM for shortness). The Union shall be a non-profit organization, and shall conduct its business in English.

2. The object of the Union is to advance the study of the flow of blood and other tissue fluids in small vessels and related matters.

3. These objects shall be achieved by encouraging the exchange of knowledge and ideas at international scientific meetings in Asia.

4. The Union shall consist of ordinary members and supporting members (organizations). Any person (organization) who is interested in the objectives is eligible for membership.

5. The constitution and rules of shall only be altered at a General Business Meeting of the Union held during the Congress. The approval of three-fifths of the members present at the meeting is required for an alteration of the Constitution, but a simple majority of those present at the meeting is needed for an alteration which would have the effect of making the Union non-charitable in law.

6. If upon the winding up or dissolution of the Union there remains, after the satisfaction of all its debts and liabilities, any funds whatsoever, the same shall not be paid to or distributed among the Members of the Union, but shall be transferred to some other institution(s) which has similar objectives of the Union, and which likewise shall prohibit the distribution of its income and property amongst its members.
