John WETTON: Vocal Bass & Guitar
From the credit wrintten in jacket "The songs
in this scrapbook bear witness to a collaboration which started
when JW and RP-J met at school in 1962. After sharing their first
adventure as professional musicians in the late sixties, these
two rejoined forces in 1972 when JW became part of King Crimson's
second incarnation, and RP-J took over Pete Sinfield's duties
as the band's lyricist. They worked together on three albums before
Crimson activities came to an abrupt halt in autumn 1974, and
some of the material conceived for the aborted follow-up to 'Red',
that year's KC album, can be heard here. JW and RP-J have continued
to work sporadically on each other's tunes, allowing themselves
the luxury of writing pieces outside the framework of their "day
jobs"(namely, UK and Asia for JW, the European pop market
for RP-J). hence this collection of unreleased recordings, demos,
and alternative versions."
