A short easy hike. A must-do if you go to Rebun |
Access: To get to Rebun you'll have to take the ferry from Wakkanai. Check the ferry schedule here
The picture on the left shows the start of the hike up to Rebundake. It's an easy hike.
The map on the right was shamelessly copied from Rebun's tourist page.
I highly recommend you have a look at it
here. We camped at
Midorigaoka campground which is the blue dot on the coast just south of the
Solar Eclipse Observation Monument. The campground is small, but the
toilets were relatively clean. We met up with a couple who had camped on
the other side of the island who said Midorigaoka was much better as it wasn't
as windy. Midorigaoka is in a small valley and was quite sheltered.
It was only 30 minutes or so to the start of the trail by bike and then a little over an hour and a half to the top.
