To get to this mountain you need to drive 13kms along a gravel track and it is roped off you just need to call the town office and they will give you the combination. ( I don't really know why there is a need for it) the combination for the gate is 1732

 

This is a great mountain to climb if you have a hangover! Very easy underfoot. It might be a bit difficult in the wet or if it is windy as you are always walking along a ridge. There are no difficult parts of climbing this mountain at all. There are some paths that you might want to go off and explore. When you climb this mountain there you'll find yourself looking around wondering I wonder what's over there and where can I go from here.  At first you will climb up through forest then when you hit the ridge a wonderful panoramic view opens up before you and you never lose this view  until you get back into the forest on the way down. We climbed on the 9th September 2007 and as you can see the autumn colours were in full bloom - a great time to climb. 

Access

Route 39 from Asahikawa to Kamikawa turn left at route 273 and about 10kms (6 miles) look for this sign and turn right (be careful - it is very easy to miss) Keep following the signs and you'll reach the start point. It is 13kms so don't panic if you are driving for a while. Remember the combination for the lock is 1732.
