Battle Ship Mikasa

Mr. Greenwood visited battle ship "Mikasa" reserved in Yokosuka Naval Base. The ship was build in Belfast, Northern Ireland and used as a flag ship in the Battle of the Japan Sea. Because of its complete victory over Baltic Fleet, each country rushed constructing big battle ship. But its power was faded after the rise of task force of aircraft carrier.

It seems that Japanese government and business firms are still sticking to the philosophy of Big Battle ship and does not recognize the importance of air craft carrier.

An uncle of Mr. Greenwood was a flight lieutenant of  Japanese navy. But he died during an dive-bombing to a sea convoy in Xun Jiang River, near Hong Kong from his ship to land bomber 96 in February 1938.

He never saw the dominance of air craft carrier over battle ship. With out avoiding the risk of innovation, new age will never come.
