Mt. Takatori and Kanazawa-hakkei

Wakwak climbing club made a hiking around Mt. Takatori and Kanazawa-hakkei in a cold rainy day of early February 2002.

They started walking from Higashi-zushi station of JR line at 10:30. They arrived at the peak at 12:00 and took lunch there. Mr. Greenwood visited Mt. Takatori about 3 years ago. But this time, instead of returning to the starting point they went straight to Taura station of Keihinkyuko line. After Mt. Takatori, they moved to Kanazawa-hakkei station by train and started walking along Hirakawa bay toward Nojima Island.

In Edo times, this place had many beautiful views but most of them were lost either by reclamation or urban development. After enjoying vies from the top of the Nojima Island they visited summer house of Hirobumi Itoh, a prime minister of Meiji era who wrote Old Constitution of Japan.
