Ynagiyato

In the north of City of Chigasaki, there is a place called "Yanagiyato", or Willow valley. It is the last old country side left among urban area of Chigasaki. Mr. & Mrs. G visited the place.

You cannot find the name "Yanagiyato". Instead a name "Serizawa" or dropwort valley is shown on the map. This valley spread in between Koide river and Prefecrural road No. 47 which run on top of the ridge.

Just east side of the valley, you can find a very old shrine called "Kosikake". Name of Kosikake come from a myth about  a prince who came over to this place in his trip to eastern Japan to spread Yamato reign some time in 600AD. He had a rest here sitting on a small stone and looked back west and enjoyed beautiful landscape of Ooyama. The stone is still there.
