Mt. Sawaguchi-yama

On April 3 to 4, 2006, wakwak climbing club climbed Mt. Sawaguchi-yama of Sumata-sanzan in Southern Japan Alps. Mt. Asahi (1,826m), Mt. Maekuroboushi (1,943m)and Mt. Sawaguchi-yama (1,425m) compose Sumata-sanzan. 

First Day

All members used Ooigawa line after JR's Tokaido line. Ooigawa line runs along River Ooi which collects rain fall in South Japan Alps.

They arrived Sumata hot spring after a long ride on bus which run over steep ridge etched by deep valley.

After making warm up walking along the valley, they enjoyed hot water bath and drinking.

Second Day

They got up at 4:30 and started climbing at 5:40. After reaching the summit, they returned to the hotel at 12:40.

In the return trip, they were lucky to ride on vintage train driven by steam locomotive.
