Nakakaruizawa, Yunomaru, Takamine and Iizuna Highland

From August 9, 2003, Mr. & Mrs. Greenwood stayed in a second house of their relatives in Nakakaruizawa over a week. Mr. Greenwood prepared 3 books for the stay. One of them was "The Wealth and Poverty of Nations Why Some Are So Rich and Some So Poor" by David S. Landes.

In a bright sun shine after Typhoon, they visited Ikenotaira of Yunomaru and Takamine Highland just north of Nakakaruizawa. They enjoyed walking in the highland where they saw similar flowers like Edselweiss which was seen in Rebun Island.

They enjoyed a nice view of Mt. Asama, Mt. Yatsugatake and Japan Alps from the top of Sanpougamine Peak (height 2,040m) and Unjounooka (height 2,110m).

During the stay, Mr. Greenwood visited his mothers house and played a golf with his high school mates in Iizuna Highland. Contrast to hot whether in Europe, it was very chilly in Japan. It was necessary to put fire in fireplace in Nakakaruizawa.
