In 1988, Mr. Greenwood visited Negros Island, Philippine. The purpose of visit is to investigate the possibility of improving sugar refinery by utilization of power generated by geothermal power plant.
He found the sugar refinery is still using reciprocating steam engine for driving sugar extruder. Small steam locomotives are collecting sugar cane from the field.
In southern part of Negros island, he stayed in a small town facing Bohol Sea and Cebu Island. It was very enjoyable to take breakfast in the veranda of the bungalow.
