Kita Yatsugatake Mountain Range

Mt. Chausuyama

In the first week of September 2002, Mr. and Mrs. Greenwood stayed in a rental summer house in Yatsugatake Highland (height:1,150m). During the stay they climbed Mt. Chausuyama.

First Day

They moved to the summer house by Jeep. It was 5 hours and 30 minutes drive including lunch time.

Second Day

They climbed Mt. Chausuyama (height: 2,384m) from Mugikusa Pass (height: 2,120m) where they parked their car. They took lunch on the summit of Mt. Chausu.

While descending, they have met an wild antelope. They strolled around the mountain over 6 hours and found many aconite having blue flowers.

Third Day

After having rest in the morning, they visited Hotel Resonale designed by Italian architect Mario Berlini.

Forth Day

They started climbing from Utsukushinomori parking place (height: 1,560m) towards Sainokawara (height: 1,906m). When they reached the top of skiing ground called Kitz Meadows, they took lunch and returned by skiing lift.

After that they visited Yatshgatake Club owned by famous actor.

Fifth Day

They stayed whole day in the summer house because it was raining.
