Iberian Trip

In January 2003, Mr. and Mrs. Greenwood visited Spain and Portugal. They had visited Barcelona in 1971 but missed Templo Expiatorio de la Sagrada Familia at that time. They started the trip from this city and driven all around Iberian peninsula clockwise and ended at Madrid.

Mr. and Mrs. Greenwood learned a lot about Spain and Portugal by reading books before the trip and actually seeing it and hearing the talks of the guides. Now they feel that they understood European history better than before. They have run more than 4,000 km in 10 days like a pilgrim of medieval time. They actually met an old pilgrim lady in Santiago de Compostela. They were lucky to share her happiness by seeing her suntan face showing deep joy of satisfaction.

Mr. Greenwood found Spain solved the problem of declining population and maintaining pension by introducing immigrant from abroad. But they are paying cost of increasing crime. In the second day, one of travel member's bag containing a camera in it was stolen while a young lady coming out from a lift to the lobby dropped a cellular phone in front of him. But luckily he chased the man who took his bag to the waiting car out side the hotel and recovered it after a small fight. They were a gang of 4 people. This brave man was at the age of 70s and experienced heart surgery some time ago.

Regardless the event, they have visited 48 places all around Iberian peninsula. Here are some photographs out of 440 pictures which Mrs. Greenwood took during their trip. Mr. Greenwood had recorded 4 hrs video.
