Kakitagawa Spring,  Royal Summer House in Numazu and Mt. Omuroyama

Mr. and Mrs. Greenwood visited Kakitagawa Spring in late Autumn of 2002. Under ground water collecting rain and snow fall to Mt. Fiji surface at this point. About a million ton per day of water comes out of ground.

This place is a natural sanctuary for sweetfish and common Indian kingfisher

After Kakitagawa Spring, they visited former summer house of royal family in Numazu. The house was burned down in the last world war II. But the site is reserved as a city park. It seems the royal family's life style was a very simple one.

The city later added a copy of famous tea-ceremony house built by Rikyu.

Then they visited Jardin de Bagatelle in Kawazu. It is a copy of Jarddin de Bagatelle in Paris. Unfortunately, it was off season for rose garden.

They stopped at Hotel Plaza near Mt. Omuroyama. The view from the hotel was magnificent.

Next day, they climbed Mt Omuroyama(580m). From the top they could see Mt. Komuroyama at north eastern side. If it were clear day, they could have seen Seven Mile Beach beyond Mt. Komuroyama.  They were certain because they cold see Mt. Komuroyama and Mt. Omuroyama lined up straight from Their house in Seven Mile Beach as seen below.

They returned home after visiting nearby botanic garden and Prof. Morinaga's house.
