Trip along River Kiso

In September 1999, Mr. and Mrs. Greenwood traveled along River Kiso.

First Day

Mr. and Mrs. Greenwood departed home at 7 o'clock. They arrived at Komagane inter-change of Chuo highway at 11 o'clock. He took bus to Shrabidaira at 11:40. He arrived Shrabidaira at noon. Within 5 minutes, Mr. & Mrs. Greenwood were in Senjyoujiki curl located at 2,600 metes above sea level. They stayed there 2hours.

They entered Chuo highway at 3 p.m. and arrived at Nakatsugawa inter-change. From there, they went north again along River Kiso. They arrived Magome at 4 p.m. Magome is a heritage posting station having 300 years history.

They stayed in hotel in Ookuwa village.

Second Day

They started the hotel in Ookuwa village and visited Tsumago, another heritage posting station.

Then they visited Mezame-no-toko. A unique natural creature.

They climbed Mt. Kiso-Ontake by car upto 6 gome. Mt. Kiso-Ontake is a active volcano.

They stayed in a Pension, called J-House in Kaida village.

Third Day

They visited an old house of Yamasita family. It was build in 1865. After that they visited Narai posting station and Hirasawa, one of center of lacquer ware.  (Library Serial No.359) They returned home at 4 p.m.
