In 1973, Mr. Greenwood stayed in London over a year on business. He accompanied his family. In September 24, he rented a large motor cruiser having a galley, 8 births, 2 heads and cruised upstream from London to Oxford. They cruised through Windsor, Maidenhead, Marlow, Henley on Thames, Reading, and up to Goring. They couldn't reach Oxford.

the Wake
The Thames has many dums for keeping necessary water depth for water transportation. This means same number of locks.
Raising level in the lock
He enjoyed a half pint of bitter at each pub on the lock as well as beautiful estates and fields along side the river bank.
at the Lock
He invited friends on board of the boat. They can easily reach the boat using their car filled with their family. Mrs. Greenwood had been busy in the galley for the food.
