Kusari Daishi Temple was founded by Saint Kobo in 819. The principal image Kurari Daishi is a realistic carving in the middle of the Kamakura period and is designed as one of the Natural Important Cultural Treasures.

After visiting Kusari Daishi temple, if you go straight to south along the old route, you may go into narrow cut called Yatozaka. (Now closed in 2002 for safety reason)
