Scheherazade 2004

May 25, 2004, Mr. & Mrs. Greenwood sailed Scheherazade from Atami to Hatsushima Island. The boat is owned by M. Everfield living near to Mr. Greenwood. Co-owner was Mr. Greenfield, a professor of physics of ICU.

August 14, 2004, Mr. Greenwood sailed a dingy along Seven Mile Beach with a friend. He had met a famous Pirates boat there.

September 12, 2004, as a crew, Mr. Greenwood transported Scheherazade from Atami to Hatsushima Island for maintenance.

October 1, , 2004, Sailed a dingy along Seven Mile Beach with Mr. Everfield.

November 16, 2004, As it was anticipated a good weather next day, it was suddenly decided to move Scheherazade from Hatsushima Fisherina to Miyagawa Fisherina. Mr. Greenwood followed the owner to a Hotel in Hatsushima island.

November 17, 2004, Fine day. They checked out the hotel at 6:00 and departed the harbor at 7:30. But the engine stopped at the harbor mouth. They managed to return to the birth and waited mechanic to arrive. During waiting time Mr. Greenwood inspected owner's room.

When Chief Mechanic vented air, engine recovered power. They asked for tug services to catch up delay. They started Hatsushima at 8:30 and sailed towards Mt. Komayama in Ohoiso.

Tug boat returned home port at 10:10. They hoisted sails and sailed towards, Mt. Takeyama with engine running.

As Jogashima Island became visible at 11:40, they set new target at Jogashima Island. But gradually engine lost power and finally stopped. As Miyagawa Fisherina has no tug services, they decided to got to Shonan Port in Enoshima Island at 12:35 and headed towards north. With the help of changing wind direction they arrived without tack  and safely arrived Enoshima before 16:00.

November 22, 2004, A mechanic started repair of the Yanmar diesel engine, 1GMY10. They flushed fuel system down to fuel pump and said OK. But it was revealed that the spare parts for the injection pump has to be shipped from Amagasaki shop.

November 23, 2004, The mechanic inspected injection pump after overhaul and set it back to the engine. We found that suction line of the fuel pump is loose and sucking air every where. After tightening vacuum line we found that engine runs very well.

November 24, 2004, We did the final leg to Miyagawa Fisherina with success.

November 27, 2004, Jib sail was broken by strong wind.

December 2, 2004, Owner was lucky enough to get the right to berth in Enoshima Marina.

December 11, 2004,  Run around Jogashima Island with engine.
