History of Personal Computing

Although Mr. Greenwood had an experience of coding Fortran Programs for mainframe computer, he never thought of having personal computer before 1986. He hated command system of DOS operating system which was inherited from mainframe computer. But when he found Macintosh from Apple computer, he instantly decided to buy it in 1986. Because he liked the graphical user interface.

He used Macintosh over 12 years until 1998. He switched to Windows 95 which was global standard at that time. He converted important personal data from Macintosh to Windows.

He invested about $42,000 in the past 17 years for software and hardware. Among them, 66% were used for Macintosh related systems. Annual investment for 12 years of Macintosh environment was $2,300/year. Annual investment for 5 years of Windows environment was $2,800/year.
