Internet through Cellular Phone

Mr. Greenwood finally decided to carry cellular phone with Internet capability called i-mode of NTT. His main purpose is to use it when meeting people and use it for asking rescue when his boat (coming next April 2001) is in danger.

But he found hidden advantage of it is instantaneous receipt of e-mail even in train. But disadvantage is unnecessary advertising e-mail; for example a mail from MP3.com wakes him up in midnight. He started to cut off all those advertising e-mails to him. According to his friend in US, using cellular phone for internet access while driving is almost impossible and should not do it for safety reason. The true reason of success of i-mode in Japan would be attributable to the fact that most of the people are commuting by train.
