Harley Davidson Group of Rotary Club Japan visited South Island, New Zealand for bike touring in February 2002. Total mileage will reach some 1,450 km.
Record of the preparation and travel itself were reported. Four bikes among 10 bikes were carried in to NZ direct from Japan. To do this, it was necessary to obtain "Carnet de Passages en Douane" from Japan Automobile Federation (JAF) in advance to shipping. Bike was shipped from Yokohama to Lyttleton by Baltic Breeze on December 24, 2001. Cost estimates for the project are summarized bellow.
