Small turbocharger for reciprocating engine could be used as small gasturbine. Mr. Nye of Nye Manufacturing Ltd. tested Wood Burning Gas Turbine. Here is a video of test operation(10MB)

Mr. Greenwood improved his idea as shown in the following drawings.  Operation is batch wise and burning control is done by combustion air supply quantity to the wood chip combustor. Alternating current generator is driven by the turbine via belt. AC power is converted to DC by rectifier and charge battery.
