Horse Chestnut
Three seedling of Horse Chestnut were obtained when collected nuts were put in nursery. The nuts were collected in Hinohara village in the spring of 1999. The mother tree was 35 meters high. Mr. Greenwood is considering to plant them in the back garden.

Japanese Oak
In November 2005, Mr. Greenwood collected acorns of oak (Quercus crispula) in Utukushinotaira high land over 1100m. The acorns sprouted in 2007 but died due to hot climate.
