Central Oyama & OMOI River
Central Oyama area is located between the east bank of OMOI River and Tohoku Line. Tohoku Line , Tohoku-Sinkansen and old Route 4 run parallel to the river. Area east of Tohoku Line is growing rapidly as business zone as well as housing lots.
East is up in the photograph. OMOI River, Oyama Station, City Office and other buildings are seen in the photo.
West bank of OMOI River
West bank of OMOI River is one of the best rice ground in Oyama. Central Oyama business zone is next to the rice ground, divided by the river.
North east is up in the photograph. Green squares are rice fields on the west bank of OMOI River. Business area is also seen on the east bank of the river.
Industrial Estate & New Route 4
North is up in the photograph. 1st Industrial Estate & New Route 4 are seen in the center and right bottom respectively.
Many industries have their manufacturing facilities in Oyama where plenty of industrial estates are prepared.
The examples of industries in Oyama are;
- Furukawa Group including Fujitsu
- Komatsu Group
- Aluminum industries such as Furukawa Aluminum & Showa Aluminum
- Food industries such as Morinaga.
View of Nantai Mountain from OMOI River
Nantai Mountain is approximately 50 km north north west of Oyama. The mountain is located in the center of Nikko National Park with the peak altitude of 2484 m.
Balloon at Watarase Reservoir
Watarase Reservoir is located on the border of four prefectures including Tochigi. The reservoir is prepared for prevention of flood from TONE River. The reservoir has rivers, an artificial lake and grass fields.
A part of the reservoir is usually open to public where people can enjoy wind surfing, cycling, balloon and etc. Further detail can be found here.
This place is also famous for very early antipollution movement against serious river water pollution from a copper mine at the end of last century.
