Just when you thought the airwaves were safe again

by Andrea Luminati '83

Poster In the last few years there have been a number of reunions in the world of Rock `n' Roll. First it was the Eagles, then Kiss, the Sex Pistols, Blondie and Fleetwood Mac -- all getting back together, touring and giving the old fans some new thrills. But no reunion was as significant as that of Graded's own... IRA! Alumni from the class of `83 will surely remember this glorious ensemble,as well as the scorching performances that forever scarred the face of Rock`n'Roll.

The IRA was a runaway freight train of sonic devastation, stunning Graded's Talent Show audiences with their total disregard for harmony, complete musical incompetence and savage unleashing of mega-watts of raw power. In short, the IRA was THE band to avoid if you treasured your eardrums.

But enough of that. The good news is that thanks to cyberspace, the original members of this legendary Graded band have reunited. That's right! Jun "Bunda" Honda (drums), Andrea "Andres" Luminati (guitar), Andre' "Banza" Sant'Anna (bass) and Rod "Bod" Moreno (manager) are back together -- virtually, through the Web -- and are once again actively disturbing the peace! In fact, the IRA invites all of you to come and visit the IRA Web site at http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~nb5j-hnd/graded.htm

Hosted and originally developed by Jun Honda, this site is a smorgasbord of memorabilia, stories and updates on the band's members, as well as links to personal web pages and e-mail addresses.

Plus, you'll get to find out what IRA stands for... or what songs the IRA played on their first Graded Talent Show back in 1982 (even if you were there, you might need this bit of info just to get some closure on the experience)... or what do losers-in-their-thirties-who-still-talk-about-their-High School-band actually look like!

See you on the web!

P.S. The band will also appreciate any leads regarding the whereabouts of two missing IRAlumni - William "Clay" Burkett (bass) and Steve "Bam Bam" Edwards (drums).
