Welcome to Marimo-kaiMarimo-kai is a koto and keyboard performing group which includes players trained in the Ikuta and Yamada schools of koto music. They have been actively performing in the San Francisco Bay Area at cultural events, senior centers, churches and educational institutions. Their repertoire includes both classical and modern music written for the koto, as well as a number of pieces written for western instruments. They are often joined by several "free-lancing" shakuhachi and sangen (shamisen) players from the South Bay area.
