The Invitation to Join L.S.S.coop (Workers' cooperatives)

As described in the article "Why L.S.S.coop ?", we are preparing for the alternative world which is based on united local self-supporting societies.

As a first step toward the "goal," we operate the open air market of agricultural produce early in the morning every Sunday in the southern residential area of Koufu city.

If we get along well in the operation, we are planning to have a simple store where we sell members' specialties. And, if possible, we hope to prepare it in joint investment and management and to have as many people as possible take part in this workers' coop.

When we meet the condition that local producers and consumers can build the ties of partnership, we try to supply local schools with local farm produce for school lunch and encourage people who want to make a workers' coop to manage for themselves in this field.

In the same way, we prepare for the recycle system of compost in which we make compost from the leftovers discharged in the local area, then produce and offer agricultural products made of the compost to local consumers.

When it gets under way, we encourage people who want to take care of the managememt to make a workers' coop and to operate for themselves in this field.

When we come to send local farm produce toward the megalopolis, we encourage people who undertake the work to organize a workers' coop.

Next, we prepare for an information section which arranges Info-Net of the grass roots and covers the trends of its local society for other local self-supporting societies by using personal computers. Printing matters will also become important work in this section.

When we think it necessary to start a new business, we encourage people who want to take part in to form a workers' coop and to perform cooperative work.

As mentioned above, in such sections as education, social welfare service, medical treatment, energy, technology, farming and processing, training institute for new farmer, and so on, we encourage people who want to start a new business to form a workers' coop and to manage it cooperatively.

In this way, we need to prepare what we local habitants really want even though they may be small in size.

Each section having mutual aids, we have to prepare for our own local self-supporting society, then for the united ones with comrades in other areas of the world. That is, having the theme, "How to create our local society into an attractive one," at the top priority, we living in each local society have to prepare for each own self-supporting society which has decentralized economy and self-government system of its own, then links gently all over the world.

We have the perspective as described above and begin to practice toward it. If you feel interest in it, let's prepare a new alternative world through exchanging information.
