Hello!! I am Kaminarikozou. As you might guess by the name, I am not a native English speaker. Actually, I am a Japanese. But recently I have come to think that watching foreign movies are very fun. Because, some way somehow, they are reflecting some values of what they are considering to be valuable consciously or unconsciously. Values usually varies from country to country and time to time, which means some values that are evaluated highly in some country might not be considered to be valuable at all in other countries. Likewise, old movies might be regarded as old from the eyes of present days. But, once we have noticed we are living in highly heterogeneous living space due to the fact the Internet is linking the persons who have originated from many different cultures each of which certainly has its own value system, it becomes mandatory to realize the relativity of a value system and have the capability of accepting other values than his own. In this regard, watching movies gives us the opportunity of knowing what other countries' people are thinking and what other ages' people were thinking. For now, my main target is only English spoken movies. Because I can't understand any other foreign languages. But eventually, I will expand the territory. Anyway, it will take a vast amount of time until I have been satisfied with my knowledge even only about English spoken movies. And, for the time being, I will limit my reviews to the movies made after 1960 and mainly 1960s and 1970s movies. There are several reasons for my doing so. One of them is because I have noticed there are few movie reviews on the Internet that is handling movies made in this duration. I am not so courageous as to dare plunge into crowded place of reviews for recent movies, and as to dare desecrate the divine place of the golden age with insufficient knowlege about it. Only after I have acquired sufficient knowledge, I will resolve to proceed to these areas. Finally, I would like to say this; as I am always trying to modify, as well as write new ones, the old reviews if I have found out inappropriate parts in them, I would be very happy if you periodically checked my home page. If you have something to say, please send me an E-mail. Thanks.

History of adding and revising of reviews

Though currently there are very very few links (several other links I have are all Japanese sites which can't be picked up here. I guess you know about notorious Japanese 2-Byte Kanji codes), I will gradually expand this section.
