I like this somewhat silly movie very much. A playboy living in Paris played by Tony Curtis keeps his three
stewardess girlfriends in his apartment, and to our surprise (and apparently also to Jerry Lewis' too (who plays
one of his journalist friends)), all three are his fiancees. For this kind of men's dreaming set-up to prevail,
he must all the time try to keep one girlfriend from accidentally bumping into another in his apartment. This absolutely
silly situation seems to be surprisingly effective in producing quite funny scenes although most of the scenes
of this movie could be categorized as utterly slapstick. Especially, confusingly and deliberately promiscuous usage
of English, French and Geman words (those three stewardesses are British, French and German) is delightfully amusing.
However, most funniest scenes are provided by the presence of Thelma Ritter even though such a prominent comedian
like Jerry Lewis is also present in this movie. It goes without saying that this film certainly bears witness to
her caliber as a very talented comedienne. Essentially, this film is such kind of slapstick farce that many characters
are incessantly opening and closing bedroom doors of Tony Curtis' apartment. Even so, I can't help but watch this
movie now and then whenever I feel something's needed to cheer myself up.
