Though she had appeared in many movies as a child star in her younger ages, needless to say she became famous,
at least in Japan, after she appeared in such famous movies as "Rebel Without a Cause"(1955) and "West
Side Story"(1961). Her boyish character must have been very unique and attractive and precious in the age
when the rebellion of youth had some special meanings. It mightn't be so strange that after such an age was gone,
it became we couldn't find her in so many movies. It's pity she drawned in a yacht accident in 1981.
