Essentially, she is an actress of the late 1940s and 50s. Even so, as she still appeared in several movies
in the 1960s, I've picked her up here. To tell the truth, I've never seen her 1940s movies, and the only thing
I know about her in the 1940s is just she was called "The Sweater Girl". But, she certainly seemed to
turn out to be some sweater girl, for she became one of the most renowned actresses of all time. It seems that
she was best suited for melodramatic roles, and as you might well know, her actual life was melodramatic too, though
I have no intention of describing it in detail here. Anyway, there is no doubt in that she was the most great actress
of her age probably along with Deborah Kerr, Rita Hayworth, Susan Hayward and Joan Fontaine.
