Her films include as many French movies as American ones, and, hence I had long been thinking that she had
to be a French actress. But, of course, she is a genuine American. Her image seems to have been fixed with her
earlier two movies, namely Cecile in "Bonjour Tristesse"(1958) and Patricia in that French derector Jean-Luc
Godard's feature movie debut "Breathless"(1960), a kind of tomboy girl with short hair having a tinge
of such sort of adolescent innocence as whatever she has done is permitted because of her youthness. Unfortunately,
she was found dead in 1979 of an overdose of barbiturates, a probable suicide.
